I purchased this sleeve for wrist support. It works wonderful for that. The thumb, not so much. My wrist is at the upper edge of the largest size. Because of this the thumb sleeve was too tight and the seam bites into my thumb webbing. I was able to stretch out the thumb sleeve enough to tolerate for four+ hours.
